100,000 Little Things...?

Question
Well, I have this serious infestation (or so I think) of these little tiny parasite looking things. I can see them with my naked eye, there about the size of a pen tip or even smaller. They don't seem very harmful as they have been in there for awhile. I thought they were some eggs from my Mollies, but it turns out there are way more than I thought. I'm talking on the brink of 500,000 of these little guys. I can tell you that they are round and are a kind of brownish-clear color, and the size of a ball point pen tip or pencil tip, maybe .5-1mm in length.

Any idea?

Answer
Hi Joe,
This sounds like fish lice. They are disk shaped and vary from light green to brown. They grab on to the fish and draw blood and body tissues from beneath the skin. You can either use a pair of tweezers to remove them or you can use a salt bath.

Good luck!
Chloe.
