looking for a specific fish

I went to the fish store a couple of weeks ago to scout out some new additions to my tank, and found one specific one that i would love to have however I don't remember the name. and being where I'm from the fish store is about 80 miles round trip so it is quite a drive and when i called to ask he didn't know what i was talking about! so that leaves my question: the fish I'm searching for is about 4 inches long 2 inches wide and about 1/4 inch thick (I'm not sure if they get larger or not) i know he is a fresh water fish and also know he gets along with glass fish sense that is what he was in the tank with. I'm assuming that he is a bottom feeder but not 100% on that. hes a gray color with black spots (he looks a lot like a pleco/sucker fish/ algae eaters but hes completely flat) I'm not sure if that is enough to give me an exact name or not but I'm sure hoping that it will at least help me start looking in the right direction. i believe he would be a great addition but i need to know some about him before i buy. and I'm not for sure when i will be able to get to that town again.

I can think of about 50 more fish which are similar.  But, without seeing him, it's very difficult to ID him.

If you do not find him here, call the pet store.  Ask them what it is.  They will be able to tell you by telephone what kind of fish it is.
