distilled water for bata fish tank

is it wise to use distilled water in a Beta fish tank?
should chorine free water be used? can i use chorine remover

Hi Mary,
It's really not the best thing to use distilled water alone for betta tanks. This is because the distilled water does not contain minerals and trace elements fish really need to thrive. If possible, just use plain tap water. (Make sure to watch any new replacement water with your betta tank's temperature) with a good dechlorinater water conditioner added such as Prime, Amquel+, Stresscoat, Aquaplus...
Always remember to dechlorinate any new water you add to your betta tank.
