moving a tank

Question
i have a 55gal tank. my question has nothing to do with anything inside the tank. i keep it and my fish pretty healthy. my problem is it is in the wrong location and needs to be moved. since you have several tanks i hoped maybe you have moved one before. i need to move it from the wall it is on to the wall right nest to it. if i removed all the deco and most of the gravel and then emptyed 3/4 of the water (i will put the water in something so i can put it back into the tank, and gravel to be put back in also so the tank won't have to be recycled) do you think it could be moved. i was going to have several people to help assist and put big furniture sliders under the corners. if we take it slow could this method work or do i risk busting the seam or womething. any info will be most appreciated. thanks

Answer
Hi Deborah,
I think you've got your tank moving well-planned out. I've moved large tanks this way plenty of times before. As long as you are slow and careful (of course) and you have lots of help it should all go smoothly.

You'll be fine, you've got it all figured out. ;-)

Happy holidays!
