Save GARY!

Dear Karen,
How do I make Gary eat again?
He is a snail.
He just won't eat at ALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!
He will DIE if he keeps starving himself.
He move unactively and barely comes out of his shell.
Please tell me how to make Gary EAT AGAIN!!

Hi Samuel,
Try doing daily 50 water changes and also if you can-- up the temperature in the tank with an aquarium heater to about 80-82F (do it slowly if the difference will be drastic with the current temp) and offering him some zucchini that has been softened by cooking it for a bit in the microwave. Often this will tempt most snails out.

I got the picture you sent me. Thank you for that. And from what I can tell in the picture, he looks quite healthy...His shell looks nice and well-colored. A malnourished snail usually has holes and a pale looking shell.
