used aquarium - to reseal or not to reseal

Question
My friend is giving me a 50 gal. aquarium that has been unused for about 3 years and stored in his garage. It is about 10 years old and doesn't leak.  Should I take the time and reseal it before I relocate my fish?

Answer
Hi Laura
That's a good question.  I bought a used 55 gal, w/ all the equipement real cheap once.  Same thing, guy had it running for 10 years, no leaks.  I set it up, after about 6 months it started leaking on me.  I would say yeah, go for it to be on the safe side after my experience lol.  May want to check with another expert though, I've never resealed one before, and I've heard mixed opinions on it.

Hope that helps a little, and good luck!
