Question
HI, I HAVE A RED OSCAR ABOUT 5" AND HE IS GETTING WHITE LESIONS ON HIM.  AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE OTHER OSCAR (12") WAS BEING MEAN TO HIM BUT NOW I DON'T THINKS SO.  WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP HIM.  I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER AVAILABLE TANK TO PUT HIM IN.  HE IS IN A 55 GALLON PENTAGON WITH A 304 FLUVAL CANISTER AND A CASCADE 30 HANG ON FILTER ALSO AN INTERNAL FILTER.  I RECENTLY HAD A PH PROBLEM BUT DID DAILY WATER CHANGES FOR A WEEK AND IT'S OKAY NOW.  THANK YOU FOR HELPING...ANDREA

Answer
hello,

This most likely sounds like some sort of external parasite. You should separate it from other fish immediately. As well as get a medication of some sort to remove external parasites. Without a Picture or more information it would be hard to tell. what symptoms does the fish have, ect.

Thanks for your time,
Michael M.
