Adding more fish to a small tank

Question
I added some aquarium salt to the tank earlier today & as of tonight Orange is eating & coming out a little more.  This makes me very happy!  You said it would be ok to add 2 or 3 female swordtails to the tank.  I don't mind cleaning the tank more often.  That is fine with me, but will it annoy the fish.  Some of them do not seem to have Ich, but every now & then they will flick off of something.  After adding the Coppersafe they seem to have calmed down alot.  Plus, I added the aquarium salt. Of course the snail is still in the 3-5 gallon tank.  It is safe to add the Maracyn-Two in the main tank with the Coppersafe already in there or should I do a complete water change after a week or so and then put in the Maracyn-two. Even though the 3-5 gallon is small I was thinking about putting 2-4 female swordtails in there as a holding area before putting them in the main tank.  One reason is to give the Coppersafe a week to work & another reason is to check them out in case they show signs of any problems before letting them in the main tank.  Or, should I remove the 2 tetras to the small tank & in a few days late do a water change, then go on the add the girls? Any suggestions? Oh yeah, what is drospy and do swordtails get it?

Answer
I would always add new fish to the smaller tank and let them get acclimated to being moved.  I would then wait about three or four days and move them to the main tank... The coppersafe sounds like it is working so at this point I would not add the second medication... Dropsy is a disease  where the fish begin to retain fluid until they puff out and their scales stick out like a pine cone.  All fish can get dropsy.  why do you ask????   dave
