While uncommon, its not unheard of.  Firemouths and JDs are both cichlids, so their mating patterns are similar.  Have the eggs made it to maturity?  Curious.  Let me know.

QUESTION: Towards the Maturity of the eggs They start out clear couple of days they become white it seams she then eats them
ANSWER: It may be that even though the eggs are deposited, they won't mature completely because of the cross breeding.  Also, eggs can also become fungus.  My breeding pair of firemouths sometimes has their eggs turn into a fungus on the plants, and then I need to clear them out.  Just my piece

QUESTION: She keeps them on a piece of slat rock I have turned on edge. The tank has all natural plants a large piece of drift wood also in this tank there are one 4-5 " red tail two Black cherry barbs one albino 3"pleco tank under size 24 gallon aquq pod funny the tough one is the red tail when firemouth is not laying eggs firemouth is about 4-5" jack is 3-4"

Answer
Flat rocks aren't uncommon for egg laying.  I have some amazon swords, which have large flat leaves, and thats where she lays her eggs.  Redtails are inherently aggressive, and because of the size of the one you got, it really doesn't surprise me too much.  Being the biggest in your tank, no shock there.  You will eventually need to consider a larger tank though.  That pleco will get huge, and so will that redtail.  But for the time being, that tank works.  Good luck
