Baby Sword Tail??????

Question
Ok, so I had two sword tails.  I am a bit new to getting new fish.  I have had one angle fish and two sucker fish that grew to be quite HUGE so I have just kept them in a 36 gallon tank (when I say quite huge, I don't mean gigantic, but they grew a lot from when I got them).  At any rate, I decided to introduce new fish into the tank and I talked to the person at the fish store and they said that sword tails would be OK with my angle and other fish.  Great.  Well then a friend bought me two fish that were a little bigger than the swords but they seemed to all get along well.  HE told me they were called oscars and they were in the "community section" of the pet store.  Well come to find out oscars eat other fish (which I am sure you know) and they ate one of my sword tails (or so I suspect). When I noticed that he had "disappeared" I removed the other one into a bowl with water from the tank.  This morning I took the oscars back to the store and came home to put the sword tail back into the tank and there is the very smallest, like two eyes and a clear tail, baby swimming in the bowl.....what do I do?  How do I care for it.  I don't want to put it in the 36 gallon tank it will get lost or eaten or sucked into the filter.  Also, what do I feed it?  I saw some advice about putting a filter from the tank in with it, but it will surely get sucked up.  Any help would be great.

Answer
feed it a paste made from boiled egg  yolk and water... just dot a little bit on the water and it will form a protein cloud and the baby fish will eat it up.  You are going to need a small tank to keep him in until he is big enough to survive in the main tank with the other fish and the filter.  A medium sized bushy plant will help him a lot as he will need a place to hide until he is aware enough to recognize you.   you might be able to get a breeder net from the local store.  It will hang in your tank and the baby will live in it until it is big enough to swim in the 36 gallon tank... that is what I would  use... is a breeders box or net.  Mamma swordtail may have more babies too.  Sponge filters work really well with baby fish.... hope this helps... dave
