Clown Plec Possible Disease

Question
Hello,

I've noticed that my Clown Plec has got lighter patches on its skin that it didn't have before. Some seem to originate fro his stripes and look like they're bleeding out from the stripes. I did a water test and the pH level was quite low (around 5). He's not eating much anymore and he doesn't swim nearly as often. He's stayed in nearly the same place for today.

Recently I've had a lot of my fish die due to the Whitespot (or ick) disease and I'm wondering if this could have something to do with it?

Answer
Hi Jasmine:  I would make sure the water temperature is between 78-82 degrees... I would add some aquarium salt to the water (not table salt) and I would try to raise the pH with some coral gravel... use 1/4 pound of coral gravel for every 5 gallons of water...but only add it 1/4 at a time and wait a day before adding anymore... test the pH often.... He may have white spot or the medication that you treated with may  not agree with him.  You can do a partial water change if you have not done one sine you put in the medication.... keep me posted... dave
