Question
i currently have 9 little tetras in my 10 gallon tank a strong filter and all readings are normal except my nitrite is high ? how do i get this down ? any advice would be amazing thanks !

Answer
Tim,
The fastest way to get the nitrites, ammonia and nitrates is a water change. If the readings are low, 25% daily until they are back to zero should work. If the readings are higher than a larger water change should be done. Do not do mare than 50% at one time. Do the changes daily until you are back to zero. Make sure you do your water changes weekly by vacuuming the gravel and removing 25% of the water replacing it with clean conditioned water. Remember to not over feed the fish and to remove any food that is not eaten within 2 minutes.
