Fish fungus

Question
My Beta has what I think is a fungus on him. Grey pillowy stuff. I'd like to save him. He seems uncomfortable and it bothers me. I have him in a freshwater bowl. I have no ideaa the size, I think it's at least a gallon. (As big as bowls come. Any bigger and it becomes a tank). He shares it with two zebra fish. They appear to be fine. Alough there where three, but the 3rd one died instantly upon introduction. Within a half hour. I can't figure out what's wrong with my bowl. (No filter, no air bubbles, no heater. Just a live banna plant for help with oxygen). I had my first beta who lived out it's live happily. I started my 2nd beta like 3 months later using the conditioners as I had before and he got the fungus and died fast. Now I am on beta #3 and he is lasting better but it looks like for not much longer. At first it looked like he started to get the fungus, then I changed the water and it appeared to go away. No it's back in full force. I have now started him on "BetaFix Rememdy" which is like 12 drops to 1/2 teaspoon for seven days. Today is day one. Help!

Answer
Hi Dan;

I think you have too many fish in there for everyone to stay healthy. The most fish you should have in a 2 gallon bowl with no filter is just one fish. If you have a filter in there, you could have up to two fish. Even with a banana plant for oxygen the limits are basically the same.

Your best solution is to keep only the betta and change his water at least twice a week. The cleaner the water the quicker he will recover and heal.
