QuestionHi Chris,
I am fish sitting for a friend who is on spring break. She has 1 beta fish named Bert in a round fish bowl. I've never owned a fish before, so other than her instructions, I'm clueless. Right after she brought Bert over, we started noticing these foamy white bubbles on the surface of the water around the edges. Every day there are more bubbles. Another friend came over and I asked her what the bubbles meant. She said that the fish was nesting. Is this correct? I didn't know if the bubbles were caused by something in our house, although I don't know what it could be. Do I need to clean the bowl? Does this mean it's dirty?
Thanks for your help,
Robyn
AnswerHi Robyn;
Bert is indeed feeling romantic. ;o)
Just follow the instructions of his owner and he should be just fine.
Here is a link where you can learn more about the breeding habits of Bert and his kin; (This site also has some nice pictures, but don't be embarrassed....bettas aren't shy!)
