White spots on mollies

Question
I've had my 10 gallon tank now for about a month.  I introduced the first molly by herself to the tank and about 2 days later we added 3 more.  The first molly fish is white kind of silver, the three after that are black, orange, and orange and black.  All of them are doing fine except the silver molly.  She is developing white spots everywhere on her.  I'm just a beginner at this whole fish tank thing but my friends have kept mollies and they have no idea what's going on.

Thank you,
Kaitlyn

Answer
HI Kaitlyn,
Do the white spots look sort of like she has been dusted with icing sugar?  If so, you need to treat the tank IMMEDIATELY for ick, which is a common fish parasite.  You can buy any of the many products availabe, e.g., Quick Cure, or Rid-Ich, will do the job.  Follow the directions and treat for 7 days.
Speed is of the essence in treating ick.
