Question
I want to start a new world cichlid tank. But I'm having trouble trying to figure out what species to use. I was wondering what species work well together? Here are some of the species I have been looking at: Firemouth, Rainbow, Black convict, Festivum, Elliots and, Green terror. Would any of these work together? Oh yeah it's 55 gal.

Answer
Hi Jacob,
A pair of green terrors would want that tank all to themselves.  Rainbows, convicts, firemouths and festivum might work together provided the tank had a lot of structure (wood, rock, plants) to break up the space and provide lots of hiding places.

Personally, I would go with a pair of each of two of those species for a 55 gallon.
