power filters and lights

Question
do i keep my power filter and light on all the time 24/7?
my aquarium was a present and it did't come with instructions or hand book.

Hello Rosa,
You definitaly need to keep the filter on 24/7 but the light can go off at night. What i do is when i wake up i turn the light on and then at night when i go to bead i turn it off. But all lights are diffrent and some put out more heat than others so watch the tempature at first and make sure its not going over what it should be.
