medication

Question
I have a african cichlid with tail rot, I want to treat with melafix, but I have babys, will it hurt them. I do not have a sick tank.

Hi Debra,
 Are you sure it is tail rot?  Are there any other equally sized or larger fish in the tank?  If so, it is most likely that one of them has been biting the fish with the "tail rot". Actual tail rot on a cichlid is EXTREMELY rare (I think I have seen it maybe once in 30 years).
