Question
QUESTION: Hey,  I have a 10 gallon heated and filtered tank with 1 betta fish, 3 african dwarf frogs, 1 Dwarf Sucking Catfish, and 1 Plecos.  Is this too many fish right now, and if not would I be able to safely at 5 neon tetras?  I was told the neons do best in groups of 5?

ANSWER: Ron,          I am glad your frogies are doing well. I gotta tell ya your betta isn't happy with things swimming in his area. He will probably kill them. Especially since they are almost edible size. If you want to get a top schooler I would get zebra danios they are at least fast. Don't forget you can also add snails. Watch that pleco he is going to get big and i mean BIG ...... good luck , tina

QUESTION: Do you think it would be a good idea for me to upgrade to a 20 gallon tank before adding more fish/snails and the pleco gets too big.  The frogs and the betta seem to get along fine, they are about as big as the betta now though.

Answer
Ron,          Your tank is fine. If you want to upgrade that is up to you. If Your betta isn't bothering them,  Don't worry. Your pleco will even outgrow that tank.... thats ok ..... If he gets to big take him back and trade him in a smaller model....lol. You don't have to add the danios if he isn't eating anyone. Your tank sounds like it is tranquil, don't fix it if it is not broken.....Good Luck,Tina.Ron regarding a bigger tank.... If you add lots of plants fake or real your betta will probably find his own territory. You could add some larger guys like a couple of mollies or platys....or a couple of beautiful dwarf graumies. they are all tranquil slow swimmers and you can still put the danios in they stay at the top anyway and are comical to watch.Good Luck , Tina....still no neons :)
