silver dollar eye problem

Question
Hi Ron, I have a silver dollar with an eye problem that started about 6 weeks ago. At first it apeared as if there was a white spot in one of his eyes. About two weeks later it looked like a worm was inside of the eye and then it started turning green. It has now burst open and has white stuff growing on it and no one here seems to be able to help me. Overall the fish acts normal and appears healthy. Please help, Thanks.

Answer
Hi Suzaan,
It sounds like the fish had an eye injury which became infected.  The white stuff growing on it now is a fungus and you need to treat the water with an anti-fungus medication.
