QuestionI was wondering how wild betta fish can survive together if in a tank they kill each other? How can they survive with other species of fish....or the same type of fish?
AnswerBetta Splendens can in fact co-exist, but they must have a large body of water to separate their homes. Females can be housed together peacefully, and sometimes in large enough tank also coexist with males. In nature, if they want to get away from each other they can. In a small tank, they can't.
And both male and female Betta Splendens can live with certain other kinds of fish, usually small tropical community fish.
