Gray on Beta Fish

My beautiful red beta fish did well for a year or so but developed ick -- which we got cleared up.  But it wasn't long til he started turning gray around the head area.  I changed water every day or every other day.  What's wrong with my little guy???  Thank you so much for your time.

Hi Marilyn,
  It's hard to say but it just may be a sign of age.  Bettas don't normally live very long. Color change over time is also very normal for bettas.
