Online Fish?

Question
Hi Lynda, I was wondering if you've had any experience with purchasing fish online, or know of someone who has? Ive been researching like crazy and ran across a few sites that seem to have reasonable prices for fish that my local aquarium store would charge and fin and a gill for. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Answer
Hi!
I Have bought from a breeder that lived 400 miles away, and he sent them to me by bus which took almost 7 hours, but the fish were so well packed, I could hardly believe it!  I had no problem.  You could try one, most breeders do not want to lose their name, and will gladly send you fish well packed.  A breeder will sell you fish for less than the fish store, the fish store triples the price of the fish...and sometimes more.  I would give it a try, you will see.  Pet stores are usually overworked with fish, and when their shipment comes in, they hardly have enough time to acclimate them, which is why many end up sick in our aquariums.   If you are looking at a good site with good revues, I personally would give them a small order to begin with, then if the fish were well packed, and arrived healthy, I would order more.
