pet fish

hi im panicking as came home with a funfair fish i have a baby biorb but i havent fished setting up the tank im on night 2, he/she is now coming to the surface grasping, our water isnt the best which is why i want to finsh this clourine clean, but so worried this fish wont last - do i put the fish in with no pump set up or water checks, yet the container he is in has nothing specail and cant imagine much great water either. oh dear please help!!!

Lorri,   I am so sorry it took us so long to get back to you. The biOrb's a nice self contained system. The problem I think is happening, is your fish is getting no air. If he is still ok. lower your water level abit and take the top off the orb. Even though these guys a fish they are among a species of fish that carry what is call a "labyrinth organ" and require the ability to breathe oxygen from the top. , Tina
