Question
Hi Jaymie,

I wanted to ask you a question. Yes, I am very crazy about my fish. I have four rainbow fish in my tank. They are great together. My tank is 15 gallons. When I feed them (once a day), they all go crazy of course, but I feel like the faster fish get more than the other fish, and I want to make sure that everyone is getting enough. I try to make sure all the fish get food, but sometimes it seems that one of them is so fast, he seems to get the most.

What should I do?

Is this a problem? I want to know if the other fish are getting enough to eat, and sometimes, it seems like they don't.

Any advice is wonderful.

Thanks again!!!

Answer
Elisa,
In the wild, they do the same thing. You can separate the faster fish from the other when you start to feed them. I had a few that did that and I took a piece of plastic canvas. The kind you find in craft stores with the holes. I made a tube and when I went to feed, I "trapped" the faster fish. I then fed the fish, including the one that was isolated. It gave the other fish time to get food while still allowing speedy to get food as well. This is less stressful then netting the fish to separate. Try that and if that doesn't work let me know.
