Betta Losing Scales

Question
I've had my beta fish about 6 months now. He has a healthy appetite and is a
very active swimmer. Within the last week he seems to be losing scales all  over  
his body ( or either losing color). I cleaned the tank last week and made sure the
water was the right temperature. Is it normal for betas' to shed their scales? If
not how can I cure him?

Hello Ashley,
Usually bettas only lose color and scales from stress. The only thing to cure this is to not frighten him very much, (walking by the tank fast, tapping on the glass, cleaning the tank out TOO frequently) those are all reasons bettas get stressed. Just put him in a nice area where not to much action happens. NOT A CLOSET OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! If his tank is too big to move then just cut down on how much actions happens around him. Do this for about a week and it should begin to clear up.
