found pidgeon

Hi..I live in Langhorne, Pa. Yesterday afternoon about 4pm. there was a gorgeous pidgeon.  I am quite sure it's probably show quality or used for racing.  He has a red tag on his leg. The number is : DVC 2008.  He has brown on his tail, purpleish/blue breast...he/she is beautiful , might be hurt..is not flying....but is sticking around. We live in the woods and i don't want a hawk to get him.  Right now i have him in a huge tupperware crate w/ a screen on top.....Please tell me what to do...thanks...
