Baby finches with not mother

Question
Hi, recently my two finches had 5 chicks.  The first chick came out of the nest box on 4 July and the last chick came out yesterday 7 July.  I came home tonight to find one of the cage doors open, I checked the nest box to find only 4 chicks and the father finch.  It seems the mother and one chick flew away.  I am wondering if the father finch will look after these chicks and feed them.  As they have only started to come out of the nest box, they still cannot feed themselves.  Your comments and suggestions on this situation would be greatly appreciated on what I should do as I do not want these chicks to die.

Answer
So you have had no luck in locating the mother and baby. You shouldn't give up looking for them just incase. It is possible to hand feed finches but starting at this age will make things difficult.

This website should help you out as it did me when I first starting out. You do not need to remove the birds from their father though. Just follow the part where it tells you how to hand feed.
