-----Question-----
well, i was coming home from work, and i look at cage. my eyes were wide opened! one of my females had layed an egg in the nestbox, and the other female had her leg broken. i quickly seperated them after that. the next day, she looked as if nothing had happened.but there had.the next day, the female that got hurt, had a soulmate. so, i boght another cage, seperated the females soulmate from the other cage that the 2 parakeets were in(still on egg).i put their cages next to each so they could talk and see each other. i then went upstairs to leave them in peace. 30 min. later, i went back to check on them. the females (the one that got hurt)perch had blood all over! i was shocked! yesterday there was no blood and now their is?it was dark by now. i rushed to PETSMART but then i remembered. it was jan. 1. happy new year.i went to rite-aid and brought back medicine. she was bleeding like crazy!I TOOK HER OUT CAREFULLY REMOVED SEEDS WITH A TINY COTTON WITH BALL. forced vita-drops (medicine for birds that gives them more blood) into her throat cleaned her cage gave her food and water with some soothing music. as i placed her inside she stood on the bottom of the cage. she tried to flap her wings and go on the perch, but with her leg broken, she couldnt.15min. laster, i checked on her. i guess she didnt make it. i was sad coz it was happy new year but didnt seem so happy to see ur favorite bird die when time to celebrate.really miss her.

Hi again, Katelyn.

This is up to you.  You can bury them or throw them away.  What has happened???

I'm so sorry, Katelyn.  Do you have any idea what happened?

Hi, Katelyn,

Do you know how the bird's leg got broken?  Is this why the bird died or do you know?

If you could provide me with information about your setup (do you have some number of breeding birds all in one cage/aviary), number of birds you have and what species (are they all budgies), whether you have plans to breed these birds (or are they laying eggs you didn't plan on them laying), etc., etc., I might be able to help you set up a successful breeding situation (or a better situation for your birds).  So far, we've been communicating by just answering a question here and there, but I think you might need more overall/general help!

Therefore, if you could tell me what you have going on, what you want to have going on, etc., I might be able to help you more.

Answer
Hi again, Katelyn.

Congrats on 1 hatching!  You need to separate your birds (put paired up birds together only).  Otherwise, there will continue to be problems (fighting) between females.  In fact, one female may kill the other.  That's just the way some female keets are toward each other.  Also, if females are housed together like this, the other female will most likely kill your babies in the nesting box (especially if she's already hurt the mom bird).

Is the blood on the egg as a result of a fight or as a result of being laid?  You can try to remove the blood from the egg...I don't know if it will affect hatchability or not...depends on how much blood is on the egg and how long it's been there and how soon the eggs are expected to hatch.
