QuestionHello i bought 2 rosey bourkes together a couple of months ago. Recently I have heard flapping, panicking sounds from them some nights and have found a bold patch on top of females head. I have separated them and am wondering if the male is trying to mate with her and is plucking out her feathers in frustration? Also is separating hem the only way to stop mating? Thanks
AnswerHe may be trying to mate with her or he may just be being violent. I would try separating them for a while. Then you can put them back together and see how it goes. I would wait until her feathers grow back before putting them back together. After a separation, he may not have the urge to mate anymore.
