QuestionI was recently given a white budgie but do not know what sex it is. Is there an easy way to discover this as I would like to get another. Is it better to have diferent sex budgies in the one cage?
AnswerHey Glynis, thanks for posting,
You sex a bird by the colour of its cere (a patch of skin where its nostrils are located). If it is a female, that patch of skin will be light blue, white, or bayish-brown. If it is a male, it will be deep blue, or deep green. Its fine to put two of the different sex in a cage, however you may end up with eggs in the spring. If there is anything else I can help you with let me know!
