THere are 2 birds in the cage, a female and a male. They don't fight THAT uch..
I have NO idea what happned.
There was blood splattered on the sides (just alittle) and some on the perch. But she seemed perfectly well. Oh, they live in a shack kind of thing so my rabbit lives wit them to. The same day this happened, my rabbit got loose so it was running around where my keets cage was.
thank you soooo much

ANSWER: Hi there,

It looks to me like she broke a blood feather.  A blood feather, as the name suggests, is a feather with blood in it.  They are shed during molting with the other feathers, but if broken, will often bleed.

You are going to need to pull out the blood feather.  Yes, it sounds a bit mean, but its one little pluck, compared to bleeding and being in pain.  First, take her out of the cage, and cover her with a light, soft towel.  Then, spread her wing out, holding her securely, but not so tight that you restrict her breathing.  Next, take a pair of tweezers, firmly grasp the bleeding feather, and pull in the direction the feather is growing, so that the removal is quick and easier on the bird.  After the feather is out, take a piece of gauze, and hold it against the bleeding.  Hold it for a minute or two, be sure to talk to her, make her feel safe.  Then, apply some flour or cornstarch to the source of the bleed, and this should help slow the bleeding to a stop.  After all this is done, the bleeding should stop.  Make sure she has treats, toys, and lots of love to make her feel better!

I hope this helps, and good luck!

QUESTION: Yeah..
Me and my bird isn't THAT friendly...
And i have no idea where the blood feather iss.. cuz it kinda smeared.
She doesn't like seeing weird things cuz it really scaers her.

Answer
That does complicate things a bit...  I would take her to a vet if it hasn't stopped bleeding by now.  He or she should be able to find the feather (if that is in fact the problem), or if its something else, they can help you, and show you how to take care of this sort of thing yourself (finding the feather etc.).

If she's still really scared, try covering her cage with a sheet.  She will probably freak out a bit, just from being startled, but eventually she will settle down.  This will also make taking her to the vet easier.     I would make sure that she has plenty of nutritious food or get her some vitamins so that she can get her strength back from the bleeding.  Your vet should be able to give you some vitamins that should do the trick.

Sorry your bird isn't cooperating!  Best of luck!
