Question
I purchased two Australian Budgies about three months ago, and last week one of them got away.  Now, a week later I have purchased an English Budgie, I was told by the pet store that they get along.  The two are not fighting, and seem fine in the same cage, but now the remaining Aust.Budgie is starting to pace back and forth, almost obsessively...What is going on?

Answer
Hi AnnaK,

Pacing is a normal behavior in most cases.  If you have a male and a female for instance, the male will sometimes pace and bob his head up and down to try to impress the female.  Its weird, and sort of funny to watch, but its normal.  It could also be due to stress, having lost a friend and gained another.  This is probably a phase and will pass.

I hope this helps, best of luck!
