Question
Hi, I was planning on getting a pair of budgies. Is it better to bring them both in at the same time or to bring in one and get use to it and introduce another?

Answer
  Hi Emily,

There is no real benefit of letting one bird get use to your home versus buying a pair from the start. Just make sure that both budgies come from the same breeder/pet shop/aviary, so that one bird does not bring in any contamination to could kill off your other bird. If you must buy two birds from two different sources, isolate each bird for a minimum of 30 days. If the birds still look fine after 30 days you can then introduce them to each other and begin the bonding process of the two. It would be easier to just buy two budgies at the same time.
