Cockatiels, Male or Female?

23 9:32:25

Question
My wife and I are thinking about getting a cockatiel, are question is which is better to have male or female?  We have been told that the males are more "talkative" and easier to train.
Could you please give us some insight on this.
Any info on them would be great.
Thanks,
Ed

Answer
Hello Ed and thank you for your question,

Males are more easily taught to mimic voices/sounds then females... thou some females can talk also neither is easy to understand... they have squeaky voices. I personaly think both make fine pets, I've had both and handfed and not and I personlly can say my favroite cockatiel so far was a handfed female. I reccomend a handfed baby of any sex as a pet as they are much more cuddley and much more fun to spend time with then a "hand trained" cockatiel. Good luck with whatever you choose an most of all have fun!
