Night Frights

Question
I bought an over priced Latino female (I think she has those tail markings)and I did what the pet person told me to do. I have her cage covered at night and had a light on. I was just getting ready ffor bed when I heard her thrashing all around.
Should I be worried about this or will that go away? She is recently bought and before lived with an aggressive grey male.

Answer
Cockatiels can be prone to night frights. However, it sounds like you are doing everything right. A night light and covering the cage will help, but she might be on edge because she is trying to adjust to a new place.

Here are some great websites you can check out for more information on caring for cockatiels:

I hope this helps.
