Question
We got one almost 2 years ago and we were told that the bird was a male.  We have noticed that there have been a few eggs shells in the bottom of the cage.  How can we be sure that we have a male and not a female?  Will the males also lay eggs?

Answer
this happens all the time baby birds are hard to sex because of them all looking like hens at that age. Males do not have the  internal equipment to lay eggs so your bird is a female, males do not have egg ducts or ovaries, so genrally if your bird lays eggs is a female lol. Just like hens lay eggs but roasters do not and female animals bear the young and the males do not birds work the same way.
