Escaped Bird

My bird, one of a pair of Cockatiels has flown out the door.  We can hear her and she can hear her mate.  We have tried to get her but she will not come to us.  Is there any chance she will come back?

Yes! You can get your bird back. The best way to keep her around is to bring her cage stocked with food and water outside. Put your other bird outside as well in the cage. She may just walk back in. If you see her and she's close enough try showering her with a hose (don't hit her with a full force straight spray.) Soak her with water, a soaked bird can't fly.

Eventually she will be hungry and weak enough that someone will catch her. I recommend that you post flyers around the neighborhood. Put an ad in your paper. Also post a lost bird report at this website:
