What bird can be caged with a cockatiel?

Hi. I've had my cockatiel for about 9 months. I have become very close to it but
nobody is home during the day. I spend as much time with her as I can but am
concerned because she has signs of loneliness such as plucking and screeching. I
want to know what bird is best to put in with her. I have done so much research
and have thought about it for a while but so many different places say different
things. Please respond as soon as possible.

There or a couple of things you can do that may help.

1. when no one is home, maybe leave a radio or tv on to give her company. Or maybe even record yourself and play it over and over again for her.

2. Another bird in the cage with her, but that may hurt the bond the two of you have together. If I had to choose a bird to put in the cage with her, I would go with another cockatiel or maybe even a parakeet.

3. Do you have any toys in the cage? Cockatiels love to swing and chew up wooden toys. This could be enough to occupy her when no one is home.
