Male Cardinal

Question
Hi... We have had a Cardinal Male and Female hang around our house for several
years, but the last couple of weeks the male has been stalking our home and
flying full force at all the windows.  He attacks all sides of the house.  The
female is still alive.  Help!!!!

I picked your question up from the question pool.

I'm not an expert on Cardinals, but I'll try here.  Birds know nothing about glass in windows.  Therefore, a bird can fly right into a window thinking it doesn't have glass in it.  Perhaps it would help if you pulled your drapes and/or put something along the woodwork or perhaps some type of decoration, etc., in the window so the Cardinal would see it and not fly into the window.  As far as flying into the side of the house itself...perhaps this bird is ill and doesn't know what it is doing.  Perhaps this bird is being chased by a predator and it flies into the house/window.  You may want to check with a wildlife expert on this site or your local Fish and Wildlife Service or Park bird sanctuary if available or local vet.
