weakness

Question
I have a little parakeet with light blue and white feathers. I think they are called Australian Birds. But it is weak. Since almost a month ago it was acting weak. and now it can't fly anymore, it is hard for it to maintain balance on my finger, it can't hold the wings in its back, instead, its wings are just hanging on its sides. It sleeps the whole day. It eats and drinks water normally, so i don't know what is going on with it. What is it? what treatment or medication will heal it?

I am really sorry to hear your troubles.

Please take it to the vet to confirm, but it could be a number of things. It is best to get the vet to run through diet with you and run some tests for psittacosis and other problems.

Please see an avian vet about this without delay, a month really is a long time to have left this with a bird.
