Cockatiel and partner

Hello.  My mother and I currently have a 3-month-old Cockatiel.  We are wanting to get another bird and would prefer either an African Grey or a Sun Conure.  Would you recommend either of these breeds as a cage mate or should we stick with another Cockatiel?  Thank you.

You absolutely cannot put a larger bird in with a cockatiel.  Smaller birds like parakeets or finches are all right with cockatiels, but not parrots.  A bite from a parrot can kill a cockatiel.  If you got a parrot, you would need to house it in a different (and larger) cage.
