There are a bunch of collective nouns for goldfinches although you almost never hear them used in everyday speech. Here they are - American, UK, and NZ versions:
charm, chattering, chirp, chirm, chirp, chirrup, cirm, a dip of, a drum of, a flock of, a vein of, and a flash of. I don't think any fit your e..e.. requirement, but these are all I know of
