Question
Hi  my pony has suddenly started trying to bite me, i mean really bite, ears flat back and snapping, i went to get him from the field today got his headcollar on fine and as i began leading him he lunged at me with his mouth open and ears back, i gave him to someone else to lead and he did try to bite but wasnt so bad , then after his feed i tried to groom him and he just kept trying to bite everytime we got near him , we heard his teeth snapping so it wasnt a threat , hes never done this before the only thing i am wondering is that i used some rescue remedy and if he could smell it and didnt like the smell, it was really frightening behaviour , he has just been put into a really grassy feild again with mares and geildings but hes been good the last few days coming out and standing nicely , im getting to the end of my tether here and as i share him with my neice i cant just give up or she couldnt afford to keep him on her own , he stood at the gate as we put him back and was still trying to bite us if we touched him , i dont get why hes suddenly doing this

Answer
Hi Carol

You are certainly having a rough time with this boy!  He's probably trying it on with you...If he tries it, then growl at him, square up and let him know that his behaviour is unacceptable.  Tap him on the nose, and 'NO' in a loud voice, or a low, growly, 'DON'T YOU DARE' and smack him.

DO NOT let him get away with this.....he's being plain obnoxious, and it's getting to you, and he knows it.

Hope you can get this sorted. Any other problems, please ask and I will try my best to help.
