bucking habit

Hi! My friend has a QH gelding, and whenever you ask him to canter he just starts bucking. Do you have any advice on how to stop that? Thanks, Heather

Hi Heather!

I cannot give training advice to non-owners of the horse in question.  Training is the sole responsibility of the owner.  Any advice or action from others, no matter how well meaning can be misconstrued as interference leading to hard feelings or worse to a lawsuit.

I can say in the broadest of terms though, the safety of the rider is the most important thing and when that is at risk, bringing in a professional trainer for advice is often the best thing to do
