Question
Hello, I have a 1 year old filly. she will be 2 feb. i just got her a month or so ago. she was just left in a pasture with her brothers and sisters. never fed or handled. today i got her in a stall to see if that could help me be able to handle her since shes in a smaller confined area instead of in my pasture. I'm not sure how to approach her or try to handle her i don't want to scare her anymore than she already is. when she was in the pasture she wood circle you a couple times and come to you but you couldn't touch her as soon as you would go to touch her she would go away. I'm kinda lost and not sure where to begin or if she should even be in a stall.

Answer
NO she should not be in a stall, this will make her more scared and insecure and will cause her to be more instinctive and more likely to kick, rear or hurt you or herself.

You said she would come to you in pasture, you were the problem since you kept trying to touch her. you did not communicate with her like a horse, like she understands, since you do not know how.  If you did, you would have able to pet her easily.  This horse is a horse, she has been kept with horses, YOU need learn how to be a horse and stop trying to make her learn what you want in your language.

Like most so called horse problems, this is a people issue and not a horse issue.  Read my web site and watch my videos on youtube so you can better understand horses.
