Leasing, buying or adoption

Question
I leased a Connemara cross Welsh Pony for about three years. Unfortunately I out grew the pony size. I'm interested in buying a horse now. I'm not familiar with the market. Any hints on where I could look? I've tried Horse Deals the magazine and through friends, but no luck. Can you adopt a pony or horse?

If you could get back to me that would be great.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Pamela Felling

Answer
Hi Pamela,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yes you can adopt a pony or horse and there are many good rescues. If you do adopt you have to make sure that your lodgings for the horse fit the rescue's requirements. The places I look when I want to buy a horse are Equine.com, Dreamhorse.com, the local classifieds to name a few.You can also go to the auctions to find a horse. Also do a search on the internet to see if anyone has a horse for sale.
