mare gone mad

Hi there, my mare i bought last year has not been ridden all winter, she has now established herself as lead mare and is terrible now to hack out. Spinning, rearing, neighing v v nappy! this behaviour is so unlike the horse i bought help please!she is 15 yrs and part thoroughbred

Hi Jayne,

You don't say how old you are, what your riding experience is, or anything else.  She is probably in season, touchy and the fact you haven't ridden her all winter is terrible.  You cannot seriously expect her to be a calm, confident and happy horse when you have just hauled her in and ridden her.

Lessons, and REGULAR WORK are the answer.
