hello, how does a cribbing collar work on the horse? what make the horse stop cribbing when cribbing collar is put on?

A cribbing colla,r correctly fitted, prevents the horse from expanding his esophagus so that he can suck in air.
Care must be taken so that it is fitted correctly and checked AT LEAST daily. A collar will often cause rubbing and loss of hair.

I have also known horses that were put out in a pasture wearing a collar and started running and could not get enough air. They can be dangerous if not monitored.
