Question
hello sir. what is the correct age to shoe a horse? i mean to say, at what age of the horse, the hoof wall becomes hard enough to get shod?

Answer
We don't start putting shoes on horses until the age of 2. But even then, it depends on what we are doing with them and how the feet look. If the feet are ok, and we are not working them on hard ground, sometimes we do not shoe. We rely on our farrier's advise. Every horse is different. We have horses age 16 without shoes and horses 2 years of age with shoes. As said, it depends on what you are doing and how the feet are. There is no hard, fast rule on shoeing.
